Paul Rylance, from Stockport, has successfully ‘Bid for a Break’ with Jet2holidays to secure a 3-night city break to Porto for just £20.68, after the UK’s largest tour operator’s popular campaign returned for 2024.

Giving holidaymakers with a myJet2 customer account the chance to pay as little as just a few pence for a Summer 24 getaway every week from now until 9th May, the sought-after campaign made a comeback on 15th April.

After Paul placed his bid of £20.68, he was told he had entered the lowest bid and purchased the three-night Jet2CityBreak for two adults to the The Editory Boulevard Aliados Hotel in Porto for that same price.

Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign has experienced sky-high popularity with a phenomenal number of customers bidding on a break since it launched in 2021. After being inundated with requests for the popular campaign to return, the tour operator has brought back everyone’s favourite campaign, seeing Bid for a Break relaunch on 15th April.

Through the campaign from the UK’s largest tour operator, millions of customers have bid in the online auction in the hope of securing a getaway with Jet2holidays from as little as a few pence. Since its launch, other successful holidaymakers have bid on and secured getaways with Jet2holidays to destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, with successful bids starting from just 2p.

With a new holiday available to bid on each week, holidaymakers have plenty of opportunity to do just like Paul and successfully bid on a break. Bidding opens at midnight every Monday and closes at one minute to midnight on a Thursday, giving holidaymakers the chance to submit their bids until 9th May.

The other holidays available to bid on include:

All holidaymakers need to do to enter is download the Jet2 mobile app, register for a myJet2 customer account and add in their bid to the nearest pence. If their amount is the lowest and no one else has bid that same amount, they will purchase the holiday for that same price.

Paul said: “My wife Jacky and I are now retired and use Jet2 frequently. As we follow their offers closely, I decided to enter ‘Bid for a Break’ after Jacky made me aware the promotion was available again. My winning bid was a combination of the current century and a random number between one to 99. I can’t believe we actually won - we’re very excited to be getting away to Porto!”

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Since its launch, our Bid for a Break campaign has been extremely popular with holidaymakers, and we are delighted to see it make a much-welcome comeback. At Jet2, we’re always looking at ways to give our customers more, so that is why we have brought back everyone’s favourite – Bid for Break. We would like to congratulate Paul on his successful bid to secure a city break to Porto for just £20.68. With another two holidays available to bid on still over the next few weeks, holidaymakers have the opportunity to pay just a few pennies for their next getaway.”

The Jet2 mobile app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or on Google Play. It can be used to search, book, and manage ATOL-protected holidays and award-winning flights in one handy place.
